The New Fuencarral - Malmea Commuter Train Station is part of a major urban transformation project in the north of Madrid: Madrid Nuevo Norte. The new station will provide sustainable public transportation services to a new residential neighborhood with approximately 11,000 homes. The new station will be strategically and centrally located within the new urban development and will include an adjacent underground parking lot. The existing Fuencarral commuter train station will be dismantled once the new station is built, as its current location and configuration do not allow for adaptation to the projected new neighborhood. The project also includes a significant railway intervention to incorporate the platforms of the new commuter train station and two additional sidings, as well as the partial modification of the track yard providing access to the adjacent Maintenance Base. These railway interventions require a detailed study of their execution during construction to ensure uninterrupted railway functionality for both the C-4 Commuter Line and access to the Maintenance Base.
