The Almuñecar footbridge is built with innovative materials that minimize the weight and height of the structure.
The structure consists of a single carbon fiber U-girder fixed at the abutments, with a height of 1.20 m, a width of 4.0 m and an approximate length of 40.0 m.
Transversal stiffeners were installed on the outer surface of the shell that mark shadow lines at the sides of the footbridge
The floor of the structure is materialized with a precast “U” panel, which allow the installation of utility cables inside the deck, with the same color and texture as the visible face of the foundation blocks and the plastic handrails
