The new cycle path bridge over the ravine of the Bruggbach is part of the project to realign the foot and cycle path along the cantonal road K442 between the junction to Böttstein Castle and the Birchweg, in the north of the historic main town of Böttstein. The cantonal cycle route R607 Villigen - Böttstein - Döttingen, which is also part of the national cycle route No. 8 (Aare Route), currently runs along this section of the K442 cantonal road with its winding, unclear, and partly narrow and steep alignment. Since the connection is also of great local importance as a school and work route, the cycle route in the above-mentioned area is to be newly defined to offer an attractive and safe solution for slow traffic in the future.

The new construction is planned as a tensioned, form-retaining composite girder made of weather-resistant steel and ultra-high-performance concrete and in an integral construction method. The foundation will be carried out using micropiles. The concept allows for a delicate structure that blends sensitively into the surroundings.
