CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS IN THE ITER COMPLEX

The first International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is currently under construction in Cadarache (France). It is a large-scale project in which several countries take part and whose goal is to experimentally determine whether nuclear fusion is a technologically feasible and economical power source. FHECOR is highly proud of being part of this historical and emblematic project. We are in charge of the detailed design of various buildings which are necessary for carrying out this ambitious experiment, as well as the site supervision. Some of the structures we have designed (currently under construction by Ferrovial) can be noticed in this aerial picture: the foundation system of the magnet power conversion building, the structure of the “crioplant” and the completed assembly building (façade, stairs, secondary structures, etc.) are just some of them!
