SIGNING OF THE CONTRACT FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE PROJECT OF THE CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE OVER THE NILE RIVER IN QENA OF THE HIGH-SPEED LINE 2 IN EGYPT

06/2024

Last Tuesday, 28th May, the contract was signed between the construction company SAMCO, represented by its president Eng. Sameh Soliman and the representatives of the joint venture that will carry out the project, represented by Mr. Javier Torrico from FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores and Dr. Mahmoud Lasheen from AHE House of Engineering.

The bridge is included in the Line 2 of the Egyptian High Speed Railway and the client is GARB and NATM.

This is the first high-speed cable-stayed bridge to be built in Africa and the Middle East. The total length of the viaduct is 2.3 km, of which approximately 400m will be cable-stayed, with a maximum span over the navigation channel of between 130 and 160m.

We are very proud to be involved in this important project, a major challenge both from a design and construction point of view, as well as an important boost for the country's tourism development.
