NEW SUSPENSION FOOTBRIDGE IN MAJADAHONDA (MADRID, SPAIN): CONSTRUCTION WORKS UPDATE

10/2021

The new ‘Roza Martín’ footbridge is a suspension structure 180 meters long with a curved layout. The central 140 meters are suspended from a single mast located at the outer side of the curve, and thus, with a single tilted and eccentric suspension plane. The deck cross-section consists of a steel box 4.00 m wide and 0.70 m deep. The project also includes constructing the approach ramps and widening an existing sidewalk running along two existing overpasses. FHECOR has been in charge of the detailed design and currently assists the owner (Majadahonda Council) as construction managers.

Construction keeps moving forward as some foundations have already been poured. They have already executed the mast and tie-down piles within the roundabout, as well as the piers' micropiles and pile caps.

We are happy to see one more of our projects becoming a reality.
