MAINTENANCE PLAN FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURES OF THE PORT AUTHORITY OF VALENCIA

11/2019

Becoming more and more necessary to preserve its existing structures, last September 12th, the Port Authority of Valencia hired FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores in order to elaborate the Maintenance Plan for the three ports under its management: Valencia, Sagunto, and Gandía.
The Port Authority of Valencia is currently managing over 19 km of quays and berths and more than 10 km of breakwaters along its 80km stretch of the Mediterranean coast. It owns the second-biggest volume of assets of all Port Authorities of Spain.
The FHECOR Materials and Durability Engineering Department is in charge of the development of the basis on which future maintenance will be based. All the above mentioned will start with the implementation of a system that is based on the creation of an inventory and inspection schedule of all waterfront facilities, allowing the prioritization and optimization of the investment in preservation.
