The 11 Itinerario JV - FHECOR – INTEMAC, has inspected and assessed around 100 bridges between 2014 and 2018 acting as consultants for the Spanish Ministry of Public Works. The scope of works has comprised Special Inspections and Rehabilitation Projects in the Southern Area of the Ministry roads network.
The contract has been an opportunity for the JV to improve its knowledge in historic structures and deterioration processes and how to deal with them. Some of the bridges analyzed are the A-1 Hocecillas Viaducts, the Hondon Viaduct in Cartagena, the N-630 bridge over Rivera de Huelva, Juan Carlos I bridge in Seville, or the steel bridge over the Guadalimar in Linares, built in 1866 and strengthened in the 1940s following a project by César Villaba (image attached).
