The load testing of the Fernando Reig Bridge in Alcoy was successfully completed yesterday in order to validate the behavior of the bridge with the new stay cables. The static checking was necessary prior to its reopening to traffic after the completion of the Emergency Operation that has been carried out by the Direction of State Roads of the Valencian Community from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport under the direction of Mr. Ismael Ferrer. Gemma Fernández from FHECOR has been the Director of the load tests, which required up to 28 trucks in six different phases (four-load stages and two-unload stages).
FHECOR Ingenieros Consultores’ role includes the work supervision since the beginning of the rehabilitation activities in 2016 and the design of the strengthening intervention that has included the substitution of the damaged cables.
