An Emergency Operation at the Fernando Reig Bridge in Alcoy has been carried out since May 2017, including cable substitution of the bridge, by the Direction of State Roads of the Valencian Community from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. This Emergency Operation has been directed by Mr. Ismael Ferrer.
FHECOR’s role includes the work supervision since the beginning of the rehabilitation activities and the design of the strengthening intervention that includes the substitution of the damaged cables. Cable substitution has been carried out by FCC.
In February 2018, an important milestone has been reached by installing and stressing all the new cable stays, thus ending the first phase of the substitution works. The following works include the finishing works of the cable stays as well as the rest of the interventions of the Emergency Operation.
